Our Wayside representative, Derek Aldous is back home after competing at the BMW Golf International Final at the Fancourt Resort in George, South Africa.

Here are a few words from Derek himself:

It was an amazing experience and one that I will never forget. BMW hospitality and arrangements were first class.  As for the results, well, not too bad but afraid no trophy’s. I scored 32/37/33 and came fifth in my group with 102 points. The Austrian won my group with 111 points, Belgium second on 110 points, Mexico third on 108 points and Switzerland fourth on 107 points.

In the team event we came fifth also with 269 points, Malaysia won with 280 points. Our low handicapper came fourth in his group with 94 points and our lady came 19^th with 73 points.

The courses were superb although very tricky especially the greens which were very fast. Lots of water which made me feel at home but also lots of trees! We also had Gary Player giving a golf clinic after the final round which was very good and he also played 3 holes, showed us what we all should have done!
